The depth and consistency of the sediment affect that process, as do pipe condition and available access. Free-liquid pumping is not equivalent to desilting because a sediment bed can remain below the water.

Work on a public sewer requires the sewer owner’s authority and operating arrangements. Incoming flows and connected properties are considered before desilting, and external equipment is used where it can do the job. Any necessary entry needs separate confined-space controls and emergency arrangements.
Cleaned length and remaining defects
We identify the sewer length cleaned and any deposit, obstruction or access limit that remains. Once sediment is reduced, inspection may reveal low sections or structural damage that had been hidden. Desilting does not correct poor fall or repair the sewer, so those findings need separate action.
Where CCTV follows desilting, any length still hidden by continuing flow or inaccessible from the available chambers is stated as uninspected.

No. Poor fall or other defects can cause deposits to return.
